How can you help me?
I have several years of experience helping others achieve their goals and have more satisfying relationships. The art of relating well doesn’t just mean with others, but also ourselves. I believe that we all owe it to ourselves to become our own expert into who we are. However, we don’t typically receive any formal education or experiences around how to do this. We end up developing habits and coping skills throughout our lives that sometimes aren’t very helpful and they don’t serve or strengthen our desired values. I can help you develop mindfulness around what is helpful for you to get you on track to become all that you want to be.
What’s the difference between talking to you or my best friend or family?
The difference is between someone who can do something and someone who has the training and experience to do that same thing professionally. A mental health professional or coach can help you approach your situation in a new way– teach you new skills, gain different perspectives, listen to you without judgment or expectations, and help you listen to yourself. Furthermore, our sessions are completely confidential. You won’t have to worry about others “knowing my business.”
Why shouldn’t I just take medication to help with stress or mood?
Medication alone cannot solve all issues. What medication does is treat the symptoms. Our work together is designed to explore the root of the issue, dig deep into your behavior and teach strategies that can help you accomplish your personal and/or relational goals.
How does it work? What do I have to do in sessions?
Because each person has different issues and goals, our sessions will be tailored to you. Our work together may include phone or online sessions and email, depending on what works best for you. I tailor my coaching and therapeutic approach to your specific needs.
How long will it take?
Unfortunately, this is not possible to say in a general FAQs page. Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time that it takes for you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you in the first place.
